The First Boardpants

Back in 2000, when i really didn’t know anything about what i was doing patternwise, i asked my pattern maker ‘Stanley’ to make our surf trunks into pants. He asked me a bunch of questions about rise, seat, drape… and i didn’t know what to say so i just told him to do it how he saw fit. The result was a pair of boardshorts that were pants. We called them boardpants. Complete with the side pocket, perfect drawcord waist fit, and water-friendly quick dry material. They were an immediate hit and have since become one of our all time best sellers.

Ideas made better

PLASTIC products are constantly being tweaked, made better with advances in fabric, construction, trims… so the idea of bringing back a good product made better is right in our wheelhouse. We brought back our best selling boardpants from several years ago with an updated fit and longer length- new for 2016 with the OG stripe style and a slick new fabric with a little more structure and a little less stretch- its been getting great reviews.   These pants are one of our signature and best selling items, often copied but never perfected by anyone else.  New improved Deeper Velcro pocket for bigger phones can hold all your stuff, and the super soft-4 way stretch fabric breathes, wicks, and lasts forever.  Wear these pants to the gym, to warm up for volleyball, before surfing… they are super versatile and pack in your backpack without wrinkling.  Limited quantity and colors as always!

Fit is right on (34 is a 34, etc), similar to quicksilver, etc.  length is graduated so order a bigger waist if you are very tall. Boardpants are often worn OVER your shorts as a warm up item, so take that into account when sizing.

This fabric is rated SPF 50+.
