The ‘Volley’ style is fashioned after some elastic waist shorts I used to wear in the 80’s. We use a super durable 4-way stretch material so they last forever and move with you. These are a favorite every year. NO LINER means you use your own and don’t have to replace the shorts when the liner wears out.

How much do they need to cost?

Since the elastic waist volleys production method uses less labor than boardshorts (and less fabric) we try and keep them under $50, while the competition is retailing for more like $60. We do this by working closely with our fabric supplier contacts, friends that we have made over our 20 years in the boardshorts business. We make major purchases of fabric when they are on special and stock them in our factory in Mexico. We use production time in the off season when its cheapest, and stock product until the summer. Building a quality surf short is one of the most difficult pieces in the biz- lots of seams and cutting. It’s not cheap to do and cutting corners is not an option for any top tier brand. Our mission is to create the best gear in the biz.
